ASOS

ASOS.com is a global online fashion and beauty retailer which has over 50,000 branded and own label product lines. Credited with 'changing the way the nation shops' ASOS is a well regarded retail success story which has won a host of retail and ecommerce award and which attracts over 16.6 million unique visitors to its websites per month.

Originally launched in the UK in 2000 ASOS now has local language sites for the UK, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia and also ships to over 190 other countries from its distribution centre in the UK.

In addition to the right products at the right price an area key to ASOS's success is its ability to service its global customers. However much they want the products, if delivery is a weak point customers won't bother to shop again.

One of ASOS's chosen international delivery partners is wnDirect. Rather than being the product of a rigid, fully-owned international network the wnDirect solution is supported by best-in-class, independent delivery partners who are selected in their ability to support the customer at local level. It, therefore, benefits from the best of both worlds; scale and capacity which enables significant benefit as well as access to local knowledge which can be vital to successful service delivery.

This ability to respond to local needs and differences is fully aligned with ASOS's belief that customers have to be managed as individuals.

Matt Rogers, Head of Delivery Solutions at ASOS.com said:

"We believe that part of the success of our global expansion is our appreciation of the need to treat each country as a independent market. wnDirect not only understand this ethic but it is at the forefront of their business. As wnDirect do not operate a fully owned network they have the ability to build tailored solutions that are right for our international customers. By working with local in-country carriers wnDirect ensure our customers can track their parcels and receive delivery updates in their local language, whilst having the assurance of service from a known local carrier."

Stuart Hill, Managing Director of wnDirect, said:

"We have incredible knowledge and experience of the international delivery market and know exactly what we need to consider in order to achieve successful delivery. However, that only takes into account 'process' so we like to go one step further and work with retailers to ensure that the delivery solutions we implement also consider what their customers would view as 'successful'. For many of our customers this means we are able to converse with the end recipients in local language, offer them delivery time windows and also offer a seamless returns service. Without our local on the ground knowledge this would be very difficult to achieve."

Rogers continues:

"The wnDirect team are extremely experienced and passionate when it comes to delivering a first class service to ASOS and our customers, they understand our business priorities and align themselves accordingly. ASOS look forward to continuing to work alongside the wnDirect team to enhance our current services and developing new services in new territories."
